Adults and children with impaired vision, certain physical challenges, and reading disabilities qualify for the National Library Service’s free Talking Book Program. With cooperation between the Cleveland, Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled and the State Library of Ohio, qualified applicants receive a free digital player and cartridges to enjoy a variety of audio books and magazines as well as described DVDs.
Applications for the program are available by clicking here or you can pick one up at any LCL location. Digital players are available at the Main Licking County Library and the materials are mailed directly to the participant’s home. Also, audiobooks may be downloaded via an app to a flash drive and plugged into the digital player to allow for an even wider selection of books.
For more information please call 740-349-5553 to speak with either Linda Wilkins or Rhonda Adams in the Adult Services Department.
