This month's featured location is our Emerson R. Miller branch headed up by Deb Holman who grew up in Licking County and is a lifelong resident of Ohio. After graduating from Lakewood High School, she attended OSU where she majored in American History. She began working for the Licking County Library in 2003 at the Emerson R. Miller branch and received her MLIS from Kent State University in 2004.
In 2006, she became an Adult Services Librarian, and in 2008 she was promoted to Head of Branch Services. “I love working in the branches,” she says. “I have spent over 13 years working in the Miller branch and am truly proud of what it has become. All of our branches have a great staff that provides outstanding customer service every day. They have each evolved uniquely to fit the needs of their local communities.”
In her spare time, Deb enjoys gaming online with friends around the country. She also enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing. Her longest hike was 110 miles through Shenandoah National Park. She also enjoys science fiction and horror and regularly attends sci-fi/horror conventions around the U.S.
