MARRIAGE INDEXES

The library owns early Licking County marriage records on microfilm and book indexes for them. The years covered are 1791-1801 Washington County (index only, encompassing the area that became Licking County in 1808), and Licking County 1808 through 1933. Due to courthouse fires, the period from 1808 to 1875 was reconstructed in an index by local ministers and others, but is not complete. To our knowledge, the actual records no longer exist for that period. Indexes and microfilmed records are available from April 3, 1875 to December 30, 1933.
