Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides confidential, clerical, secretarial and fiscal support to the Library Director and Fiscal Officer of the library while coordinating the Volunteer Program.
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week. A job offer will be conditional upon successful completion of a background check and meeting any other preconditions of employment. The successful candidate will work a varying schedule including evenings and weekends, Monday through Saturday. The successful candidate, if needed, will be required to work additional hours on Sundays at the Newark Library. Flexibility in scheduling is imperative.

Employment Benefits in the Licking County Library System Include: ( Aides, Pages, Subsitutes and Temporary Employees are not eligible for benefits) Medical Insurance The Library pays 65 percent of the premiums for Family or Single coverage. Dental Insurance The Library pays 65 percent of the premiums for the employee. The employee may purchase Family coverage by paying the difference between the Individual and Family premiums. Vision Insurance The Library pays 75 percent of the premiums for the employee. The employee may purchase Family coverage by paying the difference between the Individual and Family premiums. Life Insurance The Library pays 100 percent of the premiums for the employee ($15,000.00 Benefit). The employee may purchase additional coverage at their expense. Paid Sick Leave Accrues on a pro-rated basis from date of hire; may be used after completing 3 months of service. Paid Vacation Entitlement for current calendar year is based on date of hire and the average number of hours worked per week during the probationary period; may be used after 6 months of service. Paid Holidays There are twelve paid holidays.
Probationary Period The first 6 months of employment is considered probationary. Performance will be reviewed at 6 months. If the employee's performance is not satisfactory, the employee will be removed from the position. If the employee is removed from the position, s/he may apply for any position that is open in the Library System; however, continued employment in the Library System is not guaranteed.
